Development, manufacture and supply of equipment for producing metal nanopowders using the method of electrical explosion of a wire.
The method is based on heating, melting and destruction of a section of the conductor by a pulsed current, followed by condensation of the destruction products.
The study of the process made it possible to develop an installation for the synthesis of nanopowders using the EEW method - “UDP-10” (TU 27.90.11-001-80064280-2021 “Installation for producing nanopowders using the method of electric explosion of a wire UDP-10”)
Depending on the chemical composition of the wire and the gas environment, in which the process is carried out, it is possible to produce metal nanopowders, metal oxides, nitrides, and carbides. The starting material is metal wire with a diameter of 0.2 - 0.4 mm.
The capacitive energy storage device (2) is charged from the high-voltage power source (1). The wire feed mechanism (3) ensures automatic installation of the explosive piece of wire (4) between two electrodes. As soon as a piece of wire takes a given position, the switch (5) is turned on, the storage device is discharged onto this piece of wire, and it explodes. The products of the explosion are condensed into nanoparticles. The as-produced powder, together with the buffer gas, is moved by the circulation system (6) into the storage filter (7), and is separated from the buffer gas. The as-produced product is passivated and sent for further processing.
Before starting work, the internal volume of the installation, that is explosion chamber (8), feed mechanism (3), circulation system (6), powder storage filter (7), pipelines, is evacuated and then filled with the required gas atmosphere. These functions are performed by the gas supply system (9).
